Terms of Service

1. Who can use QuickNews
You need to be at least 13 to use QuickNews. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to be okay with you using it and with these terms.
Give us accurate details when you sign up, keep your login to yourself, and let us know if you think someone else got into your account. You're responsible for what happens on your account. One account per person, and don't pick a handle that pretends to be someone else.
2. Your content
You own what you post: your videos, captions, comments and profile. To run QuickNews we need your permission to use it, so you give QuickNews a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, display and distribute your content on QuickNews and to promote QuickNews. That includes making thumbnails, lower-quality copies for streaming, transcripts, translations, written articles based on your video, and source checks.
The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already shared it outside QuickNews, where we need to keep a copy for legal reasons, or for backups that are cleared over time.
Only post things you have the right to post. If your video uses someone else's footage, music or photos, you need their permission or another legal basis to use it.
3. Community rules
Don't use QuickNews to:
- Knowingly post false or made-up information presented as news, or edit footage to mislead people about what happened.
- Pretend to be another person, creator, news outlet or organisation.
- Harass, bully, threaten or expose private information about anyone.
- Post hate speech, or content that encourages violence against people or groups.
- Post sexual content, graphic violence for shock value, or anything that sexualises minors. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
- Post anything illegal under Cambodian law or the law where you are.
- Post still pictures instead of video, such as one picture or a slideshow of pictures set to music. QuickNews is for video.
- Spam, buy or fake likes, supporters or views, or run scams.
- Scrape, hack, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or get around blocks and limits.
- Infringe someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
4. Articles, transcripts and Sources
Some features are made with automated tools, including AI: transcripts, translations, articles written from videos, category labels, and the Sources panel that looks for other reporting on the same story. They can be wrong or incomplete. A Sources rating is a pointer to more reading, not a verdict on whether a video is true, and not an endorsement.
Creators are responsible for the claims in their own videos.
5. What we can do about content and accounts
To keep QuickNews safe and useful we may remove content, limit how widely it's shown, turn off features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, or that put other people at risk. Where it's reasonable we'll tell you what happened and why. If you think we got it wrong, email us at sunratanak@quicknews.tech and we'll take another look.
6. Creators
If you join the QuickNews creator program, the Creator Incentive Program agreement you sign in the app covers earnings, payments and your obligations as a creator. If that agreement and these terms disagree on a creator matter, the agreement wins.
Creators are paid for eligible views: a real person watching your video for at least 5 seconds, or a fifth of it if that's longer (never more than 30 seconds), counted once per person per video per day. Your own plays of your own videos don't count.
Views from fake or bought accounts, bots, several accounts run by the same person, or anything else set up to inflate numbers aren't eligible. We may look into unusual views before a payment, hold that payment while we do, and leave invalid views out of it. Doing this on purpose can get your creator account closed.
7. Ads
QuickNews may show ads or sponsored posts from brands. We'll mark them so you can tell them apart from creators' videos.
8. Copyright complaints
If you think something on QuickNews infringes your copyright, email sunratanak@quicknews.tech with a link to the content, what work you own, and how to reach you. We'll look at it and take it down if it infringes. Accounts that repeatedly infringe will be closed.
9. The service
We're a young product and QuickNews changes often. We may add, change or remove features, and sometimes the service will be down or slow. QuickNews is provided "as is": to the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that content on it is accurate.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, QuickNews isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data from using QuickNews, or for content posted by other people. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
11. Leaving QuickNews
You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Account › Delete account. Your profile is wiped and your videos are taken down straight away. Our Privacy Policy explains what's kept and why. We can suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms as QuickNews grows. If a change matters, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using QuickNews after that, the new terms apply.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the courts of Phnom Penh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
